Dear Delegate/Senator (Last Name of Delegate/Senator):

I am writing to urge you to do whatever you can to appropriate State funds for much needed improvements to the drainage system under Rt. 113 and Rt. 818 at Bottle Branch.

I have been informed that the Town of Berlin has unsuccessfully requested assistance from the State Highway Administration to address these problem areas that were first identified as bottlenecks to Berlin’s drainage system in 1993.  The Town has taken corrective action in numerous areas within the corporate limits, however, State participation is critical in order for the entire system to operate adequately.

A recent storm event (write about your experience or comments about the severity of the situation)

I understand the State’s current financial condition but hope you can assist us in securing State funds that will enable the Town to complete improvements to the system in which the State plays an integral part.

Sincerely,
